Announcing the invention and patent (patent pending) of a new concept in aviation!
This original invention is named the “Magnecopter”. The Magnecopter ™ combines the concepts of; 1. Magnetically driven motors, 2. Helicopters and, 3. Gyroscopes. The Magnecopter’s propulsion is produced by moving short wing sections magnetically along a circular path around a cockpit. The magnetically driven wing runs on electricity produced by a standard jet auxiliary power unit.
The name, Magnecopter, is derived from the term
‘magnetically driven helicopter’.
The Magnecopter design is a theoretical concept ready for prototyping.
Because…Math
In summary: In the basic design, which can be scaled larger or smaller, I'm moving 15 linear meters of wing at .95 Mach, right up to the speed of sound. It creates a tremendous amount of lift.
Outer dimensions:
Diameter (overall): 6m (meters). This is shorter than the typical full size pickup truck.
Center diameter (shown as spherical section, could be any shape): 4m. Cockpit comparable in size to 7 passenger van.
Overall weight with full fuel: less than 1,000kg
Dimensions for the Avemag™ ‘Wayne Avellanet’s magnetically driven concentric wing assembly’:
Number of airfoils: 25
Airfoil length: .6m
Airfoil type: NACA 23012
Movement of airfoils: Constant speed, Variable pitch. Starting AOA = 5 degrees.
Total wing in motion: 15m (25 sections at .6m each).
Wing speed in motion: .95 mach. Starting at maximum for power calculations and max performance. Can be run at any lower speed.
Power source: Jet APU turbogenerator rated at 1mw. Can be multi-engine for more power.
Power delivery: ~100 electromagnets placed along stationary track which rotate the airfoils .
We recommend you run your own numbers to validate the potential of the design which, for now, is available for licensing wherever legal under U.S. and EU law/sanctions.

Discussion of Magnecopter CFD Simulation Results
March 1, 2025
· Starting with the end in mind: The final result of this Magnecopter CFD simulation is that the smallest version of the Magnecopter, at 6 meters in overall diameter and driving 15m of NACA 23012 airfoil at .95 Mach, produces 3,867 lbf of thrust and might be comparable to the MTOW of a Bell 505 Jet Ranger X (which lists a MTOW of 3680 lbs). However, unlike any traditional helicopter, the Magnecopter is not limited in speed due to asymmetric lift.
· Engineering performed by VIAS3D using Convergent Science CFD software.
· This is the first of two CFD simulations performed. Both will be released.
· This simulation uses the exact specifications provided here on the website with the exception that the upper airflow control vents, and, lower directional thrust vectoring control surfaces were both left at a 30 degree angle with restricted clearance both top and bottom rather than being left “wide open” at 90 degrees to the horizontal with sufficient airflow clearance.
o Both the upper and lower vents effectively lessened the result substantially.
(I created the design and I own that decision).
o The vent design shown is the simplest possible version of the concept and was only intended to be a starting point. (The design requires further development of a variety of types, styles and locations of vents positioned for specific purposes at specific locations).
· YOUR FIRM CAN DEVELOP, ENGINEER AND/OR BUILD THIS UNDER LICENSE.
o The Quantitative Proof of Concept provided here is only intended to demonstrate the validity of the concept in a reproducible fashion.
o Endless variations can, and will, be quantitatively tested to address specific needs.
· The design promises Super Maneuverability. Refinement of the airflow control and thrust vectoring control surfaces promise flight maneuvering characteristics FAR beyond any existing aircraft, helicopter or rocket of any type.
· WE WILL PARTNER WITH YOUR FIRM FOR CUSTOM DEVELOPMENT
o From tiny drones up to super-heavy lift, we will partner with your firm to understand your needs and design a solution specific to your requirements.

The Magnecopter technology promises to be a large industrial opportunity. Magnecopter's magnetically driven helicopter can be built under license by interested firms.
Worldwide, we expect that companies will evaluate the technology. The size of the commercial market promises opportunities for a large number and wide variety of firms!
The power will be provided using commercial APUs like those currently built by Honeywell and Pratt & Whitney.
There are also development opportunities for electronic manufacturers. The Magnecopter requires large quantities of complex electronics, wiring harnesses, software programming and controls.

SUPER MANEUVERABILITY
This aircraft is the only design that can truly fly in 3 dimensions. It is a true VERTOL aircraft. It has positive dynamic flight characteristics and is extremely stable in flight. All other aircraft and helicopters fly, essentially, in a predictable direction, a line. Not a straight line, but a line. This design can be maneuvered more aggressively than any other aircraft design. This design has the ability to move unpredictably from any direction, to any direction, and outmaneuver every other aircraft AND dodge ANY missile. Period. Full stop.
Why should anybody care about the Magnecopter invention?
Because it is the ultimate VERTOL aircraft and can, potentially, outmaneuver any other aircraft and dodge any missile.
Inquire below. All discussions start with a typical Non-Disclosure Agreement or NDA. This is followed by a Memorandum of Understanding or MOU document that lays out the interests of the parties. Finally, we reach the Contract phase. The financial sections of the contract become relevant when certain technical goals are met. We charge an annual license fee plus a royalty percentage. We are flexible on some points but be advised that any concession for one customer makes the playing field unfair for the other customers. We will pursue any and all patent violations aggressively.
Yes. We offer a variety of levels of service.
We own and license the intellectual property.
Working with your firm and our other partners, we can perform a project series specific to your aviation objectives whether they be comparable to small drones, light, medium or heavy helicopters, tilt-rotors, turboprop aircraft, light jets or even much larger requirements such as heavy lift, private or commercial ATP type needs.
If you are interested in learning more about our offerings, then fill out the contact form below.
If a group forms a Joint Venture and wants to fund a project, yes, we will work with them. If the government of a Country were to say "...we'd like to spin up a nation-wide effort among some universities, firms and/or Government Agency...", as long as we operate within U.S./EU law and sanctions, we would license that.
We see this as a unique opportunity for a non-traditional aviation powerhouse company or nation to become one.
Yes. We are selectively licensing, non-exclusively, our technology at this time where we are legally allowed to do so as we at Magnecopter follow all Laws Rules and Regulations in the jurisdictions in which we operate.
We want to be extremely clear that we will NOT sell our invention to one company so that it can be $#!^-canned. All patent violations will be pursued aggressively.
We have extensive international experience and are able to work with you anywhere in the world.
The Magnecopter was invented by A. Wayne Avellanet of Plano, Texas.
